Malden Community Choir production-July 2022
Malden Community Choir’s Performance of `Patience’ by Gilbert and Sullivan will take place on Wednesday, July 13th at 7.30 p.m. at New Malden Methodist Church, High Street, New Malden
In March this year, the choir and friends finally performed the production which had been ready for performance in March 2020, at the Malden Centre. The response from the invited audience was enthusiastic, and it was decided to follow previous practice and perform the opera in the Methodist Church, in July.
The production is necessarily pared down, but we feel sure no less enjoyable for that. Our new leading soprano, Jacqueline Yu, who wowed the audience in March, will again be singing as will all the original cast, many of whom will be familiar from earlier productions.
Patience is perhaps less well-known than some of the other G&S operas, but contains some beautiful music, and is a humorous, satirical take on the aesthetic movement in the 19th. Century.
Come and enjoy our performance at 7.30 pm on July 13th. Refreshments will ne included in the ticket price. Tickets, price £12.00, will be available from Malden Centre, or at the door.
